Overview:  Case Studies consist of four major parts:

I.  Doing the Research [See Picking Your Case Study and Annotated bibliography]
II. Presenting a report to the class on the text [Presenting Case Studies]
III. Critiques of other reports [see Criticizing A Case Study]
IV. A written version that elaborates on II and incorporates critiques [Writing A Case Study]

Drafts & Final Versions:  You have two options in turning in your final paper:
1) turn in a draft by the appointed date, in syllabus, and below
2) turn in a final version by the final

NOTE: If you revise you will need to hand in the first draft and the revised draft together. If you "forget" the first draft with the revised draft, you will have an incomplete until I receive it.

The Presentation: You will need to present your case to the class for comment and critique.  See Presenting Case Studies for more details.

Criticizing: If we pursue the following procedure everyone's case study will be improved and you will have a real seminar experience. For each presentation everyone must make WRITTEN COMMENTS on each presentation.  See Criticizing A Case Study for more details.

Writing A Case Study:  Finally, you need to write up the final version of your case study.  See Writing A Case Study for more details.

DATES:  Case Study presentations dates are listed below, along with the dates on which critiques are due, and drafts of reports are due, if a draft is to be turned in.  The final Written Case Study is due at the scheduled time of the final, Wednesday December 15, by 2 pm.  They may be turned in earlier.  You do not need to turn in a draft, but if you want comments from me for revision, you must turn it in by the date listed.

The following schedule has some flexibility in it, so that if a discussion or reports run long, we can spill into the next class.  However, we will not know that until the very last minute. So do NOT count on delays. Be ready for the assigned day.
